Chipotle Deals Calendar
Four dates on this calendar never move. Knowing them beats refreshing a coupon site every week.
Updated 06 September 2026
Chipotle runs on a schedule, not on codes
The biggest Chipotle offers of the year are announced two or three days before they run. That makes them impossible to catch by refreshing a coupon page and easy to catch with a calendar reminder. Four dates on this page do not move at all: National Burrito Day on the first Thursday of April, the teacher and healthcare giveaway in late April, National Avocado Day on 31 July, and Halloween on 31 October. Veterans Day on 11 November makes a fifth for anyone eligible.
Everything else runs inside a window rather than on a date. Summer of Extras occupied June through August in 2026. Back to school offers spread across late August. Gift card bonuses cluster around Black Friday and run through December. Knowing the window is enough, because the app notification does the rest of the work once you know a campaign is due.
The Chipotle deals calendar
Built from Chipotle newsroom and investor releases plus dated press coverage. Months marked as a locked date carry an event that has landed on the same day for several years running.
- Jan
January: The quietest month of the year
Watch the appWatch for: Rewards Exchange refresh
January carries almost no public codes. Chipotle leans on Lifestyle Bowls for the new year health push and refreshes the Rewards Exchange list, which is where a half price entree becomes the best available discount.
- Lifestyle Bowl marketing push
- Rewards Exchange offer refresh
- Freepotle January drop
- Feb
February: Sports tie ins carry the month
Reliable windowWatch for: Big game weekend promotions
Chipotle has attached offers to the Super Bowl and to basketball coverage for years, usually as free delivery windows or a flat dollar code rather than a percentage. Codes in the TEAMBURRITO family show up around these campaigns.
- Super Bowl weekend offer
- Free delivery windows
- Freepotle February drop
- Mar
March: March Madness and the Burrito Vault teaser
Reliable windowWatch for: The National Burrito Day announcement
The tournament brings free delivery days and app games. Chipotle also announces the National Burrito Day mechanic in late March, which is when the Burrito Vault rules go public and you learn what the April prize pool looks like.
- March Madness offers
- Burrito Vault announcement
- Freepotle March drop
- Apr
April: The single best month to be a Chipotle customer
Locked dateWatch for: National Burrito Day, first Thursday
National Burrito Day landed on 2 April in 2026 with $0 delivery fees on app and website orders plus the Burrito Vault: Double Protein Edition, carrying more than $2 million in prizes. The teacher and healthcare giveaway then opened on 28 April.
- National Burrito Day, first Thursday of April
- Burrito Vault prize game
- Teacher and healthcare entry window opens
- May
May: Appreciation weeks and Cinco de Mayo
Locked dateWatch for: Free entree cards for teachers and nurses
Teacher Appreciation Week and National Nurses Week run back to back, and Chipotle covers both with the same giveaway. Up to 200,000 free entree e-gift cards were on offer in 2026, with the entry window closing 12 May. Cinco de Mayo brings a separate delivery offer most years.
- Teacher and healthcare giveaway closes
- Cinco de Mayo offer
- Freepotle May drop
- Jun
June: Summer of Extras opens
Reliable windowWatch for: Bonus point days
The 2026 edition of Summer of Extras started on 1 June and ran for three months, handing Rewards members free entrees, extra points and member only offers on a weekly rhythm. Nothing here is a public code, so the app is the only way in.
- Summer of Extras begins 1 June
- Weekly member drops
- Bonus point days
- Jul
July: Avocado month
Locked dateWatch for: National Avocado Day on 31 July
The avocado code family is the most predictable freebie on the calendar. Chipotle has run penny or free guacamole with an entree purchase on 31 July, using codes in the AVO shape with the year appended.
- National Avocado Day, 31 July
- Penny guacamole codes
- Summer of Extras continues
- Aug
August: Back to school buy one get one days
Reliable windowWatch for: BOGO entree days
Summer of Extras closed on 31 August in 2026. Overlapping it, Chipotle ran buy one get one free entree offers across four separate back to school days, some tied to a gear drop. These are announced with only a few days of notice.
- Back to school BOGO days
- Summer of Extras ends 31 August
- Gear drop tie ins
- Sep
September: A short lull with one reliable date
Watch the appWatch for: National Guacamole Day on 16 September
The summer programs are done and Halloween has not started. National Guacamole Day on 16 September is the one dated hook, and the back to school BOGO run sometimes stretches into the first half of the month.
- National Guacamole Day, 16 September
- Freepotle September drop
- Late back to school offers
- Oct
October: Boorito builds all month
Locked dateWatch for: Halloween, 31 October
Boorito is the longest running promotion Chipotle has. The format moves between a costume discount at the counter and an app code for a cheap or free entree, and recent editions have leaned digital with an evening time window.
- Boorito on 31 October
- App only code editions
- Evening redemption windows
- Nov
November: Veterans Day then gift card season
Locked dateWatch for: Veterans Day BOGO on 11 November
Chipotle has run a buy one get one free entree offer for military members on 11 November, in restaurant with ID, in a short evening window. Black Friday and Cyber Monday then bring the gift card bonus promotions that carry into December.
- Veterans Day BOGO, 11 November
- Black Friday gift card bonus
- Cyber Monday digital offers
- Dec
December: Gift cards are the whole story
Reliable windowWatch for: Bonus card promotions
December belongs to gift cards. Buy a card and get bonus value back is the recurring shape, and it stacks with Rewards because the eventual purchase still earns points. The year closes with a Freepotle drop.
- Gift card bonus offers
- Holiday catering push
- Year end Freepotle drop
The four dates worth a reminder
National Burrito Day is the strongest of the year. In 2026 it fell on 2 April and Chipotle waived delivery fees on every app and website order while running the Burrito Vault: Double Protein Edition, a code guessing game carrying more than $2 million in prizes that ranged from free double protein to burritos for a year. The announcement came on 30 March, three days ahead.
The teacher and healthcare giveaway is the largest single handout. Chipotle offered up to 200,000 free entree e-gift cards, worth as much as $2 million, across Teacher Appreciation Week and National Nurses Week. The 2026 entry window ran 28 April to 12 May, with employment confirmed through ID.me inside 48 hours. Supply is capped, so entering on the first day matters more than anything else about it.
National Avocado Day on 31 July is the most predictable freebie. Chipotle has run penny or free guacamole with an entree purchase using codes in the AVO family, dated with the year. At $2.95 per side that is a small saving in isolation and a reliable one, which is rare in this category.
Halloween carries Boorito, the longest running promotion Chipotle has. The format has moved between a costume discount at the counter and an app code for a cheap or free entree, and recent editions have leaned digital with an evening time window. Read the terms on the day rather than assuming last year's rules apply.
The quiet months, and what to do in them
January and September are the two genuinely thin months. January carries almost no public codes because the new year marketing push is built around Lifestyle Bowls rather than discounts, and the Rewards Exchange refresh is the only real change. September sits between the end of the summer programs and the start of Halloween.
Both months are the right time to bank points rather than spend them, because the exchange listings and Freepotle drops keep running regardless of the campaign calendar. A balance built through a quiet month is a half price entree waiting for a month when the food you want is on the menu. The Rewards guide runs the numbers on that.
How this calendar is kept honest
Every locked date on this page traces to a Chipotle newsroom or investor release, and those are linked on the offer cards on the homepage. Windows and formats come from dated press coverage of the campaign as it ran. Where a mechanic has changed year to year, this page says the format varies rather than repeating last year's terms as if they were current. If a date here has moved, telling us fixes it for everyone.
